Invitation to Present Now Open

Do you have a case study or industry advancement story to share? If so, the 2021 Pulping, Engineering, Environmental, Recycling and Sustainability (PEERS) Conference would like to hear from you.
PEERS has opened its Invitation to Present and the Program Committee is seeking manuscripts which provide reports on industry advancements and process improvements designed to inform, enlighten and engage both industry newcomers and seasoned professionals.
Suggested topics include, but are not limited to: Pulping, Brown Stock Washing, Bleaching, Recycling, Nonwood Fibers, Mill Reliability, Recovery Boilers and Evaporators, Lime Kiln and Recausticizing, Energy and Power Boiler, and Environment/ Regulation/ Sustainability.
The Biorefinery Track, which is part of the co-located International Bioenergy and Bioproducts Conference (IBBC), also seeks presentations on biomass crops, harvesting and storage, bio-based polymers and bioproducts technologies, market usage for lignin- and cellulose-based products, thermochemical and biochemical conversion technologies, alternate feedstock options (forest residue, sludge, black liquor), and use of pretreatments for biorefinery pulping.
Undergraduate and graduate students are also invited to submit poster abstracts for the Student Poster Session and Competition. Suggested topics include but are not limited to process improvements in consumption of energy, water and raw materials, or the creation of new sustainable products.
Deadline for submitting presentation abstracts is Monday, March 15, 2021. Abstracts should be uploaded to TAPPI’s Speaker Management System. The first-ever virtual PEERS Conference was held on November 2-4, 2020. It began with a Welcome and Awards Presentation, followed by the Keynote Address with WestRock CEO Steve Voorhees. The Conference also featured a virtual Hot Topics Breakfast breakout session with a myriad of topics, including The Environmental Impact of a Changing Climate for the Pulp and Paper Industry and Practical Strategies for Reducing Pulp & Paper Mill Energy Use.
