Environmental
The Environmental track will provide participants with insight into the latest developments of wastewater treatment, process enhancements that could be applicable to their meeting permitting requirements, and solutions to a number of issues that have prevented the use of reclaimed water in the past.
This track is developed for mills with wastewater treatment plants, those looking to improve or reduce the wastewater treatment plants as cost centers, Environmental Supervisors, Wastewater Operators, and Utility Supervisors.
Learning outcomes: After successfully completing the sessions in this track, participants will be able to go back to their workplace and:
- Demonstrate a practical application of engineering results that improve wastewater treatment and water reuse
- Address and develop solutions with an environmental sustainability in mind
- Evaluate water sources and reclaimed water within the Mill
Demonstration of learning outcomes: After attending the Environmental presentation sessions attendees will have a better understanding of how to implement:
- Mill trials of equipment designed to improve quality, production, or cost of a process
- Wastewater treatment engineering changes based on learned information
- Consultation with experts in the field that were connections made during the conference
- Mill audits and operational changes to save cost and increase process performance
- Improved mill environmental performance due to changes & effluent streams once deemed unusable.
